BU Central is Boston University’s late night entertainment venue, located right in the center of campus in the basement of the GSU. Every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night, we bring you the best in music, student group programming, and whatever crazy events our staff can come up with. We’ve already brought some of your favorite acts— Young the Giant, George Watsky, Chiddy Bang, Myq Kaplan, Titus Andronicus, and Bo Burnham— just to name a few. We have some wild and fun events like 60 Seconds to Fame, Drag Bingo, and the Dating Game Show. And if you aren’t too shy to get up on our stage, we’ve got events like BU for Show: an open mic night, Battle of the Bands, and BU’s Funniest Student.
What makes BU Central so great? Maybe it’s the intimate setting—with a capacity of only 400, you’re never more than a few feet away from all the action. There’s hardly a bad seat in the place (unless you’re behind a support column). Or maybe it’s because you can always count on us to bring you artists on the rise as part of our LIVE: concert series; one day you could say “I was there when (Young the Giant/Bo Burnham/Cults) played at BU Central!”
If you’ve ever thought about working in the entertainment industry, check out our leadership and volunteer opportunities. You can learn what it takes to plan, promote, and run a successful concert or event, and even get the opportunity to meet your favorite performers. Looking for some extra cash? Keep on the lookout for employment opportunities in BU Central.
In addition to all the quality late-night programming on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights, BU Central is the perfect place to come during the day. Bring your lunch, challenge your friends to a game of pool, or just come relax and chill–because life is cooler underground.
