Classes over?

Hey again everyone,

this is the final week of classes! Although that sounds like the best thing possible … it is happening for a reason. And that reason is finals. They are coming up and fast! One of the things I love to do is listen to music. So what better way to study for finals then to listen to the singer that loves to shock us all. Lady Gaga!!

Listening to lady gaga instead of studying for all those finals seems like the one thing all college students want to do. Except, its not economically possible. For those of you in econ, you understand. For those of you not in econ, I’m sure you still understand. Basically it means you  need to study and not listen to lady gaga. But you can waste time listening to other songs. Like this college song. I thought it was quite appropriate, seeing as we all love to hate college. We love the parties but hate the exams, the studying and the tiredness.

So give it up for I hate college

If music isn’t your favorite thing to do when there is nothing to do (or when you have to study) then try watching some new shows. Lost is still pretty popular on hulu. But you need to start watching the shows sooner than later because the new hulu plus is making hulu fans pay for watching free shows. There’s the show Pushing Daisies. That’s a new favorite show of mine. It is filmed like a Charlie and the Chocolate Factory movie.

Spoiler alert ::

This show is lots of fun to watch, the way it is filmed and the plot is intense and out of this world fun.

So if you are struggling with finding something to do once classes are over then try one of these options : listen to music, or watch a new tv show. Either way maybe studying should be the first thing to do.

-Have a happy study break

A few more weeks

Welcome back everyone! I hope you have all come back from fabulous dinners and home cooked meals! It’s always lovely to come back and eat the school’s dinning hall food… yes lovely indeed. During that week vacation, I went to the movies with my friends from my town, and we saw the movie Burlesque. It stars Christina Aguilera and Cher, they sing and dance and the whole movie is filled with lots of fun and excitement! One of the songs is sung by Cher and I think it sounds amazing. I haven’t heard her sing in such a long time, and I’m glad that she’s finally come back!

The next song is sung by Christina Aguilera, who I also haven’t heard recently. I think that they both took a break and decided to make this movie together so that it would be such a huge hit. Their voices are very powerful and together they made the movie amazing.

This last song is also from Christina Aguilera, and I couldn’t help myself because I love listening to it. I would see the movie again, and my friends want to buy it…so if you love the songs, then watch the movie because when they sing, they sing in a way that takes your breath away!

Enjoy guys! And just remember there are only two more weeks left, some quick finals and then a whole month of vacation. Then spring semester comes around and it’ll go by just as fast as this semester and then it’ll be summer! And for those of you with summer classes, well it’ll feel just the same!!

Until next time

Vacation?

Hey guys, it is already Monday night, and that means that vacation is almost here. For some of you classes are canceled tomorrow and get to leave early. How exciting, getting to see your family and friends sooner than everyone else. For those of us who have to stay through Tuesday, there are quite a few things to do before we await going home. There is this new show on hulu called “The Event”.

This show is addicting, and is a great way to pass the time until we go home. But if you’re not the kind of person who wants to spend their last day at school watching hulu episodes, you can go see school productions. If you were not able to see the production, it was Rent. If you haven’t seen Rent, I suggest that you watch it. Here are some songs from the Rent movie,

That is the song “Another Day”, it is sung by Mimi and Roger. Another song sung by Mimi is “Out Tonight”

As you can see I enjoy the song by Mimi and Roger, if you liked those songs I recommend seeing the movie, or even the play in person.

Have fun over the Thanksgiving week!

Until next time,

-Lizi

Music Monday

Hey guys, so this week is the week before Thanksgiving. GOBBLE GOBBLE . I’ve heard about all the midterms this week before Thanksgiving break and what better way to forget about having to study than watching music videos and learning about our Thanksgiving traditions.

How exciting, Thanksgiving like never seen before, wasn’t that educational? Those cartoons bring back memories. But really, we know what we are all going to do on Friday, after our exams are over and the mini vacation starts. That’s something to be thankful for. Going out with friends and listening to music is what most everyone will be doing this weekend. Heres a new fun song by Shakira. Makes you want to dance and break it down with friends…or maybe alone in your room while studying for midterms. Either way here is “Give it up to me”

And if your feeling down then listen to P!nk’s song “Raise your glass”, it’ll show you how to raise your glass if you are wrong in all the right ways. So don’t feel down because we are all wrong in all the right ways and no one is perfect. What a lovely thing to be thankful for. Happiness and friendships.

So party or your own and maybe you should study instead until the weekend.

These songs should make your week easier and be thankful that there are weekends in college to relax. Also enjoy the clip from the cartoon, it should bring back childhood memories, when we all learned about the first Thanksgiving.

Until next time,

Rainy Monday

Hey everyone, to start off, this weather is sleep weather. Who wouldn’t like to be sleeping in the dark and hear the rain come down? I most definitely wish I was sleeping right now. Thinking about sleep makes me think of the songs that I listen to while I sleep. Other than classical sleep music, I was thinking of sad soft songs. The song by Sarah McLachlan, is my friend’s favorite song. After hearing it played over and over in their room I remembered that I had that song and it was perfect for this type of weather. The song is Fallen:

It’s a sad song, and it doesn’t help the fact that the weather makes it even sadder. So I’ve thought of this online show called Making Fiends. Now some of you might not have seen it, but it was big during middle school. Here is a youtube clip of a remake of the first day for Charlotte.

Now you can compare it to the original first day of school for Charlotte

Making Fiends Fiend 1

I hope you have enjoyed these short clips. Maybe you’ll want to see the rest of the making fiends episodes on www.makingfiends.com

They are quite adorable and short. It sure makes the time go by during these rainy days soon to turn into snowy days.

Don’t want you guys to get bored! So listen to music, nap or watch random clips!

Until next time guys, don’t let the weather get you down!

Monday Night

Hey guys, after a fun, safe, and long Halloween night ,filled with parties, it’s great to start off the week once again with…tests! I hope you all enjoyed dressing up, going trick or treating and having fun Friday Saturday and Sunday. I didn’t realize that Katy Perry had a new song. But one of my friends showed this music video to another friend and they both told me that the music video really touched them. This song is a really good song and the music video can really touch all kinds of people who feel down on themselves. The song is Fireworks by Katy Perry.

The song shows a group of people that feel like their lives are over, yet in reality they can turn their world right side up. It shows how a spark can ignite and try and change the world for other people.

On another note, there is another song that these two friends of mine are always dancing to. It was the number 1 song for nine weeks straight. If that’s not a good reason to listen to this song then what is you might ask? Well the cheerful nature of the singers and the bright happy colors are sure to make your day bright. The song is called Gee and it is about a girl who has fallen in love for the first time. The title is supposed to be an exclamation of surprise! Without further ado here is the song Gee

I hope you all have a great week, study hard for those exams and essays! A shout out to my friends who recommended these songs!

Until next time,

Another Week Ahead Until Halloween

Hey everyone, this week is followed by many more midterms, papers and the like. It seems that the weekend went by fast and another week has begun. I hope many of you had fun with your parents. There were many events that families attend together! The BU Hockey game was very popular, the shopping down at BU Central and the Dear Abbey’s also performed at BU Central. After such a fun fill weekend, we need something to help us through this week. Last week I posted two of the fast paced songs that helped many people through their exams. This week however we are going to prepare for Halloween! When thinking of Halloween, the main thing that pops into my head is the movie Halloween. This movie has been remade many times but the theme song remains the same.

This song is played by the piano and while it does not have any lyrics, you can hear the way the music sounds eerie. If any of you have seen the movie, you can really picture everything that happens throughout the movie with this music. Not only can you put this music to the movie Halloween you can also picture yourself on this Halloween night with this music playing in the dark. Wouldn’t that make your Halloween night a very spooky one indeed?

Thinking of Halloween also reminds me of one of the most famous songs imaginable. Not only is the song famous, but the King of Pop also made sure that his music video was one of the first spectacular music videos of his time. You might already know who I am talking about, and if you are a huge fan then you might already know what song I am thinking of. Michael Jackson is the singer, and his famous song and music video is Thriller.

Not only is this a great song, but it also has a Halloween theme to it. I love the fact that his 14 minute music video is almost like a mini movie. And all of a sudden the dead come alive and the zombies begin to dance, to the famous dance, the Thriller dance. Needless to say that this music video is quite the thriller that is a perfect addition to your Halloween night.

To end on a cute Halloween mode, although I don’t think that Donald Duck thinks it is such a cute Halloween Night, here is Donald Duck’s Trick or Treat. I hope this brings back memories of your childhood, and all the fun times you went out trick or treating dressed up in cute costumes that were “scary”.

I hope you all enjoyed these clips and songs. They sure brought back memories from my childhood. I am excited to finish this week up and go trick or treating on Halloween! Because really, who doesn’t love free candy? And maybe like Michael Jackson some zombies will start dancing on the street, or like Donald Duck, a Witch will fly in and annoy you!

Either way,

Happy Halloween and have a stress free week!

-Lizi

Monday Night

Hey everyone tonight we are going to listen to some of my favorite music. It’s a Monday, and you know what that means, the week has begun. That is why for this week we will be listening to fast beat songs to get us through the week once again. I know that there have been lots of tests, and tests have been returned with good and not soo good grades. Oh well. Good luck to those chem students who had a big test today, or at least it  sounded big since almost everyone had to take it. The first song is a song that is not well known but it has become a personal favorite.

This song has helped me and my friends loosen up and jump around and forget about grades.

This next song is a fun and you may be wondering why I am going to put it up, except that I haven’t told you the who sings it or what the song is. A few weeks after school started my friends and I were swamped with homework and what is the only thing to do? Go to the library you say? Well…we could have gone to the library but instead we went to a concert. A Jason Derulo concert. Thanks to my lovely high school friend who bought the tickets. But the song that will be posted is not a Jason Derulo song. Instead is a song from the opener band for the concert. It is the song “La la la” sung by Auburn.

This song I actually first heard from one of my friends and when I reheard it at the concert I was very excited but didn’t know what the name of it was. So I went through the iTunes top songs until I heard the song! Although these are just two songs, they are the two main songs for the week because they are the only two songs we are currently obsessed with.

You guys must know the feeling of that one song that is always on repeat for a whole week until you get sick of it. So these two songs are those songs that just stay on repeat. They are the songs that get you through the week and well you sure need those types of songs to get you through this week filled with exams and essays.

Until next time. Enjoy the week

Artists Performing this Friday

Hey guys,

There is going to be a BU Central event this Friday, AudioDax and OnCue are performing. One of my favorite songs from them is a remix called Thoughts, it samples Crystal Castles. I like the changing rhythm and the beat in this song and hope you guys like this funk as well !!

I hope you guys are really excited because the band Audiodax and OnCue are not as known but I do love the song above. I thought it was a good starter to get you hooked on the following songs by Audiodax.

This other favorite of mine by Audiodax, has a new modern beat and has sweet lyrics. I think it is pretty clever with its lyrics. It gets you to get excited if “you are feeling down” and it tells you to jump and down.

This next song, I like the beat to it but I wasn’t as addicted to it as the first one. However the posts on youtube for it show that people find it very inspirational. And honestly the rhythm is soothing. Also, people are letting their friends know all the way in Canada, so definitely let your friends know!

The second performer is OnCue and one of his songs that I really enjoy is called Until I am Winning. I like their beat a lot. The background beat contrasts with the rapper so I personally like how they do that. It also reminds me of a song that would come from the a Step Up movie. It sounds like a type of song that one could come up with dance moves to. I think you guys will enjoy this artist and I suggest you check out his other songs. Also, the song Breathe Me, has the beginning that popular songs have, with the chipmunk voice. And that is sure a hit song with that effect.

I hope you guys like these songs, they will be performing live on Friday. You guys should come out and see them if you liked these sample songs. I personally like their beats and what the artists do with their music. I hope you guys enjoy their lyrics as well as their beats and let your friends know about their songs as well!

Until next time,

Glee Inspired by Britney Spears

Hey guys last Tuesday Glee performed Britney Spears songs.

For those of you who are Glee fans, I heard a lot of commotion about the Britney Spears episode of Glee.

I chose to make a post of it seeing as many of you are Glee fans. But not only that, also the fact that I have always loved Britney Spears’ music.

I remember how much I listened to her music and I these are the most popular songs that she had.

Since Glee also performed them, I decided to put up Glee’s version of her music!

Hopefully these songs will bring back memories of all her good songs, since they have really brought back memories.

Here is to hoping that Britney Spears will bring start singing more songs, as Emma said,

“Britney Spears only makes great music when she’s not chasing down paparazzi. She can’t just swallow a grenade and and let her talent explode, she has to rein it in.”

Toxic

Hit me baby one more time

I’m a slave for you

Me Against the Music

Stronger

This last song, The Only Exception, is not a Britney Spears song but it was in the episode of Glee.

It is originally sung by Paramore and it is absolutely lovely. Rachel sings it at the end of the Glee episode and it portrays how much she cares about Finn.

The song in general is very sweet and it shows that when you really love someone, you should say it and only say it if you mean it.

The song just means a lot to me, and I am glad Rachel sang it at the end of the Glee episode.

The Only Exception

Until next time guys,

-Elizabeth
