Well, this time I’m actually going to brining up a song I included in a post way back in September (practically another universe). I am talking about a live performance I found on youtube a couple of years ago by John Hiatt of his song “Cry Love”. The song has gotten stuck back in my head, It’s hard for it not too; the performance consists of just some simple mandolin, bass, and guitar parts under Hiatt’s unique, incredible vocal performance. Nothing is played that doesn’t have to be. The lyrics are pretty interesting, and at points provide an interesting contest to the lively, upbeat instrumental backing. Essentially, the performance feels like an honest-to goodness, heartfelt jam, and always cheers me up.
